In horse racing and in investing there’s an old saying that goes, you don’t bet on the horse you bet on the jockey. Which simply means that that you are placing your bets on the individual or team to succeed. The same is true when employers recruit individuals. They are betting that certain personalities are more predisposed to success which is why they go after these individuals more than they do others.
