Introducing BranchOut 2.0

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything about BranchOut.  Some have dubbed it LinkedIn’s little brother or LinkedIn for Facebook.  Regardless of what you called it or how you used it, there was no denying that it got big…really fast.

And that’s where things started to fall apart.  BranchOut was also accused of being spammy and not many of it’s users were able to derive much from the Facebook based application.

Today, BranchOut is relaunching itself as a stand along site complete with an activity stream similar to Facebook’s but instead captures your work history.  Additionally, there is a Pinterest like element that allows you to capture professional milestones.

I have to admit, I wasn’t a real fan of the initial version, simply because if I wanted to use something that was like LinkedIn, I would just use LinkedIn, which I already do.

But this is something radical, and something very interesting.  In a recent interview, BranchOut CEO Rick Marini said “the goal of the relaunch is to capture and share professional moments that go beyond the black-and-white resume.”

The new version of BranchOut is live and ready to go and promises to help you improve your career or help you find a new one by helping you leverage the power of your relationships.
