NBC Pulls “Bodies in Motion” Video After Backlash

NBC just can’t catch a break during these Olympics.  The Olympic coverage by NBC has for all intensive purposes been really good.  The tape delays and selection of which sports to feature in real time versus prime time have been called into question, but this probably takes the cake.  In an effort to celebrate the women of the Olympics, NBC produced a video entitled Bodies in Motion.  Let’s just say the video missed it’s mark.

In year where we’ve seen records broken by women and more medals won than in any other Olympic games, this video only objectified the very women it was meant to celebrate.  The video has been called everything from “creepy”, “inappropriate” to “odd”.  NBC heard the message loud and clear, and subsequently pulled the video.
