Daily Tickr: Jobless Claims Fall as Private Sector Employment Improves

July 5, 2012

Misc

Here’s the good news, the weekly jobless numbers that were just released this morning show continued improvement with jobless claims falling.  Additionally, ADP is reporting that there were 176,000 private sector jobs added in the month of June. Much higher than the 105,000 economists forecasted.

All of this is great news, and I am not trying to take away from this morning’s numbers. However, has anyone bothered to check with those that have been unemployed for more than a year or two that are constantly fighting the negative stigma associated with being out of work for so long?

Only time will tell how this thing plays out.  I am interested in what the true unemployment numbers are going to reveal over time.  I don’t think we are really ready for that just yet.  But for today, let’s cheer the numbers and raise our glasses to the private sector.
