For obvious reasons, resumes are a highly contested and debated topic. Given that there really isn’t one particular format that is more preferred than others, it really just comes down to what you want to convey and how well a resume is reviewed on applicant tracking systems.
So then what if you are a little creative and you wanted to add some designs and flair to your dull resume? Would this particular resume be well received amongst recruiters?
Although this type of resume shows your artistic side, according to recruiters if you are not in a design or creative field, you are well served not to follow this particular format. It comes across as being too gimmicky at best and at worst it could say that you have something to hide.
When it comes to resumes, less is more. Stick with traditional formats that clearly articulate who you are and what you’ve achieved.
