This is a fitting follow up to my earlier article today. After weighing your options and arriving at the decision to relocate for a job, there are other considerations that you need to take into account. Offering full relocation packages and selling/renting your current home were all popular just a few years ago with a lot of companies.
Your new company is happy to have you on board, and they want to make that onboarding process as easy as possible for you especially when you are uprooting your family to a new city. Some of these perks may not be available anymore, but there are things you can still negotiate.
For example if you need temporary housing while you get settled into your new job. Additionally, you may not get a full relo package, but you may be able to negotiate having a moving company help unpack your family when you arrive in your new city.
Before accepting a position in another city, ask about relocation assistance or see if you can negotiate some of these expenses into your offer.

The Daily Tickr is a collection of some of the more interesting stories that you may be able to find elsewhere on the internet. I provide brief commentary on the topic at hand, and link out to the original article. I just want to make it as easy as possible for you to get access to the stories that may be of interest to you.
