Style Guide: Glasses Can be Your Most Important Accessory

May 25, 2012

Style

With the rise and growing popularity of elective lasik eye surgery, you very rarely see someone sporting a nice set of specs.  I’m here to make the case for why a nice pair of glasses might be the most important accessory you own.

If you wear glasses, they are the first thing that people notice about you.  No matter why you wear them, what you wear says a lot about who you are.

There are literally thousands of styles and combinations that you could choose from. The right pair of glasses can upgrade your look in an instant. Here are a few things to keep in mind the next time you take a trip to LensCrafters.

Be True to Your Style

Consider the type of person you are and what your personal style says about you.  If your frames don’t fit your individual style, it’ll be obvious.  Take your time when selecting frames.

Strike a balance

Here are a couple of rules of thumb that I try to live by.  Since I have a more rounded face, I typically go with square frames.  If you have a narrower more defined face, you could go with something that has more curves to it.

Get a Second Opinion

A sales person will be knowledgeable about the actual product, but it would help from a style perspective to bring someone that has some taste and actually cares about how you will look in your new specs.

Love at First Sight is Also True  When Selecting Glasses

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to the optometrist and spent countless minutes looking for the perfect frames.  Each and every time, I end up with the ones I originally started with.  If they don’t look good on you from first glance, they’re not for you.
