Mobile Is The Future Of Recruiting

Recruiting

Social Media has been one of the hottest buzz terms in the last 3-4 years.  Who on earth would have ever thought that you would use Twitter as an effective recruiting tool?  This is the age in which we live in.  Mobile is on the fringe of becoming the next wave of tools available to recruit talent.  The recruiters that adopt mobile will be well ahead of their competition in sourcing talent.

The issue though is that Employers lack the knowledge of how job seekers are using their mobile devices and how their business can take advantage of this untapped goldmine.  As a result, only a handful of businesses have implemented a serious mobile recruitment strategy. Google processed $5 Billion in mobile payments in 2010. PayPal processed $4.7 million dollars on it’s busiest day alone last year.  Mobile is serious business!

According to a study conducted by Potentialpark, 19% of job seekers currently use their mobile devices for career related purposes (50% responded they could envision doing the same).  However, only 7%  of employers have a mobile version of their career website.  Only 3% have a mobile job app.

Smartphone conversion rates are increasing.  With the ubiquitous iPad leading the pack in tablets, and the Andorid OS leading the way there’s a lot of opportunity for the employers that implement a mobile recruiting strategy.
